As president of the anniversary committee, I congratulate the University of Freiburg on its 550th anniversary in 2007 and am looking forward to preparing the anniversary events and making them into a festive and unforgettable celebration with a highly motivated team together with the students, the faculties, the private sector, the churches, politicians, cultural institutions, and the citizens of the city of Freiburg. We hope that the anniversary will provide additional motivation for the Albert-Ludwig University of Freiburg on its way to becoming a international top university.
